Narrative Structure
Introduction/ Exposition
The story takes place in train where there are different kind of people from different places and different background.
The old lady who gets inside the train is very tempered and argues with everyone who comes across her. The conversation and the way she talks with ticket inspector, the two gentlemen’s who board the train afterwards and the way she even talks to Filippo. She doesn’t allow anyone to come across her way. The relationship between the old lady and Filippo is not defined clearly.
Filippo personality shows that how polite he is and how he obeys the order of the old lady. He silently obeys her order and if he controls his anger for her. The relationship between old lady and Filippo is revealed in the conversation between Filippo and the two gentlemen’s in cafĂ© where he says that the old lady is wife of general army who passed away last year and they are going for his funeral. The background of Filippo is revealed when he is talking to girl in train.
Rising action/ Complication
The complication arises where old lady she has argument for the seats which is not hers and she stops Filippo also to talk to those two gentlemen. She shows her bossy affect all the time on Filippo. The complication also shows when he is talking to girl in train and from behind old lady is calling him.
These complication shows that old lady doesn’t want Filippo to talk to anyone. This complication rises to climax.
Climax
Climax arises where Filippo loses his temper and leaves old lady and goes away where he doesn’t needs to listen to her order any more. As where this climax shows how much she is dependent on him.
Falling of Action
Falling action is where she runs inside the train to find Filippo. There she realises that she needs him and apologises in front of the loo door. The suspense is that whether she able to find Filippo or not.
Catastrophe
The catastrophe is where she is not able to find Filippo and she gets down from train all alone.
